A forfeit is your problem, not just theirs.
A team shows up with seven. You refund a game, reschedule a diamond, hear from the other captain, and next season that team doesn’t register. The manager’s version of that problem is a group chat nobody answers. Ours is the only part of it you can actually fix from the outside — and it costs you nothing to hand your managers the fix.
What it does about a short-handed team
The manager drops one link in the team chat and every player answers with a tap — no app, no account, no password. So a manager knows on Tuesday that Thursday is short, instead of finding out at the diamond.
When they are short, one tap sends the bat signal to their spare list: a post in the team’s group chat with a claim button on it, a message to each spare on the channel they use, and a text to the ones who have opted in to texts through a link the manager sent them (Canadian numbers). First tap gets the spot, and it cannot be given away twice. Anyone no channel could reach comes back as a named list, because reaching eleven of fifteen quietly is the failure that loses the game.
The rest is the ordinary manager’s job it sits beside: the season schedule pasted in from your email, who owes what for the ice, and whose turn it is to bring the balls.
There is nothing here for you to run
No integration, no data to send us, no account for the league. Managers sign up on their own and paste in the schedule you already emailed them. Nothing changes in how you run registration, scheduling or anything else.
Players never install anything and never pay anything. They tap a link in the chat they are already in. Most of a roster never has an account at all — that is deliberate, and it is why this spreads without anyone chasing it.
We do not touch money between your teams. The “who owes what” is a record a manager keeps; no payments run through us.
What it costs a team, in the words they will repeat
$19.99 CAD per team, once, for an eight-month season. No subscription, nothing to cancel, and it never renews on its own. Managers try it first on a demo team that has a full roster and every button working, without signing up for anything.
The part worth saying out loud to a manager: after they buy it, the app offers them one tap to put the pass on the team’s tab, split evenly. On a sixteen-person roster that is about $1.25 each — so it is not twenty dollars out of a manager’s own pocket unless they want it to be.
What we are asking you for
- A paragraph in the pre-season email you already send. That is the whole ask, and it is free to you. There is one written below you can paste straight in.
- A block of promo codes to hand out, if you would rather give it to your managers than recommend it to them. We provide the codes; they cost you nothing.
- A line in the manager’s handbook or on the registration page, if either exists.
What we are not asking for, and will not offer: there is no league tier, no bulk pricing and no revenue share. One price, the same for every team, whoever they play for. This is us asking to be mentioned, not to sell you anything.
The paragraph, if you want to paste it straight in
If your team is always short a player on game day, have a look at RecLineup. Your players answer “in or out” by tapping a link in your team chat — no app, no account. When you’re short, one tap asks your spares and the first to answer gets the spot. It’s $19.99 for the season per team, and you can split it across the roster for about a dollar twenty-five each. reclineup.app
Change anything in it. It is written to be true of the app as it ships, not to be flattering.
